The Swale Business Awards Presents The Bank of England at Shepherd Neame

Written by Wesley Horan on 29th March 2017

The Swale Business Awards team are determined to help and showcase the best businesses in Swale. As part of this commitment, we are hosting an event on 26th April at Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham, which will feature a talk on the macro and micro economic environment from Bank of England Agent Phil Eckersley.

Mr Eckersley will provide an update on the UK economy based on the latest data and information in the Bank’s Inflation Report. This will include the Bank’s latest forecasts for UK GDP and Inflation, commentary on the international outlook and an analysis of the domestic economy. After his talk there will also be the opportunity to ask any burning questions you might have.

We have organised this event as part of our drive to highlight why Swale is an outstanding place to do business. Entering the Swale Business Awards can help raise your business’ profile locally and is a great way to recognise the hard work of your team.

Handelsbanken is a principal sponsor of the Swale Business Awards. Gavin Coleman, Branch Manager at Handelsbanken, and Swale Business Awards judge, discussed why Handelsbanken were so committed to the awards:

“Having been invited to become a principal sponsor of The Swale Business Awards for the last two years, it was an easy decision for us to continue with our support for the awards for a third consecutive year. Having experienced first-hand all aspects of the awards from the work carried out behind the scenes, to the judging and the awards evening we can honestly say the passion and commitment shown by everyone who has been involved is a true reflection of where business, businesswomen and businessmen are in Swale.

“The strength of the applicants across all the categories was extremely strong last year and we are expecting similar strength applications this year. The awards are a genuine opportunity for business owners to raise the profile of their businesses and in turn, more generally, help to raise the profile of the Swale area.

"Handelsbanken has the highest rating of any bank in Europe, we have 206 branches nationwide and yet as a 'challenger bank' we are still relatively unknown. Having the chance to be involved with the awards is our opportunity to do exactly as business owners will by entering the awards. We too are looking to raise our profile and spread the Handelsbanken name. Through our involvement last year we have made new lasting relationships with individuals and businesses alike. Our genuine focus on "old fashioned local banking" is something that has been extremely well received.

"Our goal is to support local business and the local economy. We want to get more local businesses interacting and doing business together. Our role is to help initiate that scenario. If you would like to find out more about the banking services that Handelsbanken offers then please email myself, Gavin Coleman at GACO04@handelsbanken.co.uk or telephone the office on 01634 890934.

"To all those considering entering the event, good luck and we look forward to meeting with you."
