Julie Gamble Advanced Skin and Beauty Clinic has been trading on Sittingbourne High Street for 23 years.
It provides high-tech skincare and advanced hair removal services to both men and women aged 18-plus. Since its inception in 1992, the business has grown, with new products and services frequently added. In addition, the business is always looking at ways to improve the client’s experience. Customers are automatically invited to review the services by email after their visit.
This year the JG app was also introduced so people can book appointments via its online facility. As a result there has been an increase in the level of bookings due to users being able to access the service at any hour.
Being a predominantly female business, the main challenge has been managing staff levels against the business needs because of pregnancies.
As a result flexible working has been introduced for all employees. Two full-time and eight part-time members of staff work at the premises.

“To expand our advanced treatment menu we currently offer laser tattoo removal, cool laser fat reduction and body toning plus the removal of skin tags, red spots and pigmentation marks by freezing with CryoPen. The training required for these treatments meant that our therapists had to pass another certified qualification online in their own time before they could do the practical training.
“The introduction of new therapies and practices, plus the way we embrace new technology, keeps the staff ahead of the game and this is what keeps the job exciting and interesting.”
