Director Graham Gent is at the helm of the business, which has been serving customers in the Swale community for the last fourteen years. He spoke about the recent developments taking place in the business. “We want to provide our customers with the best experience possible, and part of that is diversifying the services that we can offer them. We have invested in a lot of new equipment and staff training so we can offering our customer a ‘one stop shop’ for all their motoring needs, such as new tyres, wheel alignments etc.”
Whilst fending off competition from national chains can be difficult, MOT-A-CAR have managed to retain and grow their customers in part due to how active they are in supporting the local community. One of their Unique Selling Points is that they offer a car collection and delivery service, something that is especially helpful for elderly and vulnerable drivers.
Graham is also committed to finding and retaining the best staff in the area. In order to do this, MOT-A-CAR offers an ongoing training program within their workshop for all staff, and they are committed to annual wage reviews. They are also dedicated to developing young staff and as such have always have an apprentice in the workshop. They also encourage all staff to suggest training that they feel will benefit themselves as well as the company.
