With 45 employees, Bluebird Care (Swale) is a thriving business located in Sittingbourne High Street. Founded seven years ago, Bluebird Care (Swale) provides care in customers’ own homes for clients of all ages.
Director, Charmaine Grech discussed what is was that Bluebird Care (Swale) offered to their customers: “We help our clients to maintain their independence and live a normal and fulfilled life. We pride ourselves on providing a ‘Good old-fashioned Service’ that takes into account the modern environment in which we live. We provide quality care without compromise. We take care of everyone, from children to the elderly, and our service provides the full spectrum of an individual’s care requirements from assistance with daily tasks such as assisting with personal hygiene, meal preparation, domestic tasks, shopping or even the provision of full ‘live in’ arrangements where our staff provide 24-hour care to our customers with the greatest needs.”
The ethos of Bluebird Care (Swale) is that everyone probably needs some help or assistance at some stage in their lives. Bluebird Care (Swale) aims to give people who have reached this point options, so that they are not forced to give up their independence, or indeed their home that they have lived in.
Charmaine was recently awarded the Kent Woman In Business Award. She is also involved with the Dementia Friendly Community in Sittingbourne, where she holds the position of Chair Person.
When asked why she felt that her business deserved to be recognised at the 2019 awards, Charmaine replied: “For many people any consideration of their own, or an important family member’s, personal care requirements doesn’t arise until there is often a sudden and immediate need for support. At Bluebird Care (Swale) we provide an essential alternative to the hard choice which exists in such situations by getting by as best one can, hoping to maintain a degree of self-sufficiency without care at home, or moving into a care home. We cater for customers who may have learning or physical disabilities, short term and respite care needs, post-operative or medical treatment care and support and it goes without additional emphasis, care for older individuals. We do everything it says on the tin and will keep our customers happily living independently in their own homes, and more importantly we are a diverse care provider and we will tailor our care to the needs of our customers. We will bring light into their darkest days, laughter into their quiet spaces, fill their empty days and bring joy to their lives.”
