The Swale Business Awards were established to recognise businesses of all sizes. Our next entrant may run a small business, but she has very big plans for the future.
Emily O’Neill is the Owner of Pink Spaghetti PA Services Maidstone & Sittingbourne. She is a Virtual PA operating across Kent and the South East. Working predominantly from her home office in Sittingbourne, she helps business owners to tackle the tasks that they might not have the time or the confidence to undertake themselves.
Examples of this include managing social media accounts, providing content management projects for them, updating websites and helping with business development tasks including report writing, creating blogs and managing e-mail accounts.
Emily explained how she approached her business: “My background in being a PA is a massive bonus to being a Virtual PA. One of the biggest challenges as a Virtual PA is to successfully manage a variety of different clients who each have different working styles, different expectations. It really helps that I have experienced working with and for a wide variety of directors, trustees and with their different working styles because I can draw on many different experiences.”
Emily has been running her business for 18 months now, and originally made the jump to working for herself as she wanted to have more flexibility to look after her daughter. Over the next few years, Emily would like to establish herself further as someone that businesses can come to knowing that her support will help them to develop their businesses and take them to the next level.
Emily ended her 2019 application by saying: “Having grown up in Swale, I am able to bring expert local knowledge to the work I do for my clients, including suggesting local connections that may be open to collaboration. I love sharing my expertise with other business owners and have made some great relationships with many Virtual PAs in Kent; I’m so proud to be part of the business community in Swale.”
