Faversham Designs provides low-cost online marketing for small businesses. Emulating the Netflix model of a pay-as-you-go service for a low monthly fee, Faversham Designs offers businesses of any size a well-designed web site that performs well in the Google search rankings.
James Baldock started the business in 2013 when he noticed that the web design industry was beset with businesses charging hundreds or thousands of pounds for poorly designed sites. James spoke about why Faversham Designs were offering a better alternative to this: “Our service includes complete website management so our customers are not stung with hidden extras or additional charges. For a small charge of £15 a month we build the site, host it, manage it and keep it secure. We also include two updates per month so that customers can just email us changes such as blog posts or price updates and we will take care of it.”
The low-cost monthly fee means that Faversham Designs are helping smaller companies in the Swale Business Community to get online, as there is no longer a prohibitive cost blocking new and small companies from getting their first website. Due to the consistent positive feedback that the business has received from its customers, James finds that a lot of new business comes from word-of-mouth referrals.
James discussed why he felt that Faversham Designs deserved to be recognised at the 2016 Swale Business Awards: “We offer a high-quality service at a low-cost to our customer. We enjoy working with our customers to learn about their businesses so that we can really understand what they do and then create websites to reflect that. We work really hard on customer service, making sure that we are always understanding, whilst ensuring that we complete most customer requests within 24 hours – not something that is heard of very often in our industry. Because of how we operate, people can relax about their website. We take care of everything from building it in the first place to updating it and maintaining the security of it by regularly updating the security software. The fact we are subscription-based is a win-win for everyone – our customers have an extremely low monthly fee and we have a loyal customer base. It is a great business model.”
