After winning a Swale Business Award in 2013 and being a finalist at the 2016 awards, A2 Tyre Supplies have once again put themselves in the running to be Swale Business of the Year. Now in their 42nd year of trading, the company specialise in providing tyres and batteries to the general public and wholesale to businesses as far away as Dorset. They also have a mechanical workshop carrying out general repairs to vehicles and now have four call out vans for commercial tyres.
Leading the team at A2 Tyres are Directors Gary, Kevin and Robert Lorton, who discussed the changes the business had seen over the last year: “Over the last 12 months we have experienced phenomenal expansion, which is wonderful but of course creates it’s own set of challenges. For example, we set ourselves a number of tough objectives, which we have met. These have included putting another call out vehicle on the road, installing a class 7 MOT bay, renting another unit to store more commercial and car tyres, enhancing and improving our website and growing the wholesale side of our business.”
There are few businesses in Swale that match the longevity of A2 Tyre Supplies and part of the reason for this is their ability to constantly improve the services available. They have recently started offering custom-built stainless steel exhausts for any vehicle that come with a lifetime guarantee.
Gary, Kevin and Robert spoke about why they felt that A2 Tyres could be named Swale Business of the Year in 2017: “We believe that we deserve to win the Swale Business of the year award mainly due to our unrivalled customer service and the way we deal with our customers, some of whom have been coming to us since 1975! We also put a lot of emphasis on looking after our staff and helping them when life outside of work can get a little tricky. We have increased our training program, monitor staff satisfaction and encourage our staff to talk to us with any problems.”
