The Swale Business Awards are about businesses of all sizes, and new businesses as much as established ones. Beauty Academy South East has only been trading for a year but in that time they’ve already made an impact in the local business community. The Beauty Therapy training school offers accredited courses in facials, waxing, manicure & pedicure, eye treatments, make-up and tanning, along with more on the way.
Beauty Academy South East is still a growing business, which currently consists of owner Tania Emery, her apprentice and two part time tutors. Tania is determined to build on the success of her first year and expand the business further over the coming years. She discussed her ambitions: “We teach novices the art of Beauty Therapy, whether it be new mums, school leavers or existing beauty therapists and hairdressers that might like to up skill. At present we offer sixteen courses, including a business start up course, but I am always open to developing new courses and products.”
Tania’s business differentiates itself by having a very clear pricing structure with no hidden costs. Course fees include everything a student would need including a full working kit and the products to start them off, as well as text books, training manuals, assessments and certification. Tania commented: “My business is definitely ‘high end’ as we offer bespoke options allowing our students to train in a certain topic then move onto another as and when their clients require it. They can cherry pick the courses they wish to train in then up skill at the correct time for them.”
Tania’s also spoke about why she felt her business was a good contender for an award at the 2017 Swale Business Awards: “I like to think that my business stands out from my competitors on a number of levels, including the fact that our branding is so strong that after a year we’re already very recognisable. I would love for Beauty Academy South East to be officially championed within the local area as being a 'Business with Attitude' and I want people to see what we have to offer, which in my opinion is the BEST Beauty Therapy training outside of London!”
