Kent Catering Service (KCS) is on a roll at the Swale Business Awards. For the last two years the business has picked up the coveted title of Sheppey Business of the Year and in 2019 has its sights set on being only the second business in the history of the awards to win three years in a row.
Established in 1999 and based in Sheerness, KCS specialises in the sale, service and repair of all commercial catering equipment; including Gas, Electric & Refrigeration. KCS possess one of the largest catering equipment service workforces in Kent and all clients and staff are Kent-based. They are Safe Contractor approved and hold memberships with Gas Safe, CHAS, Constructionline and F-gas. They have also successfully obtained a position on the ESPO Public Sector Procurement Framework.
Evelyn Irwin is the Media Manager at KCS. She spoke about how committed the business was to its team of 25 employees. “Certainly as a business we invest in and care for our staff like a family business, and our investment in our employees exhibits that we have their interests at heart. Expanding their skills and knowledge not only ensures that we continue to provide outstanding service to all our clients, but further enables us to give confidence to our staff to perform stronger as individuals as well as in teams. The company ethic is about providing customer satisfaction and with customer satisfaction brings employee satisfaction, so to do this we actively encourage close dialogue between our staff and clients as it enables us to promote new advances in equipment technology, along with providing first-hand knowledge of others experience with new appliances. Most of our staff are long-term and some have moved up to senior roles within their time here.”
KCS proudly boasts an extremely high customer retention rate, and continually outperforms competitors in terms of business growth and turnover. Part of this is down to the dedication to after-sales support as well as the personal touch that allows them to advice customers on the best products to suit exact requirements.
